Getting a clip off your console

Xbox: press the Xbox button, then X, to save the last 30 seconds. Open the Xbox app on your phone, go to My Library, then Captures. Tap the clip, then Save. It lands in Photos.

PlayStation 5: once, go to Settings, Captures and Broadcasts, and turn Auto-Upload on. In the same menu, set Video Clip Format to MP4. Then open the PlayStation app and go to Library, then Captures, then Download. Clips over 3 minutes won't reach the PlayStation app.

PC: send the recording to your phone however you like (AirDrop, a cloud drive, a cable), then pick it from Photos or Files.

Why was my clip refused?

"This clip is already vertical": Vertikl turns widescreen gameplay into vertical. Pick the original widescreen recording, not one that has already been cropped.

"This clip is too long": Free clips can be up to 3 minutes. Trim it in Photos and pick it again, or go longer with Vertikl Pro.

The minimap or health bars didn't show up

Vertikl only shows a piece it actually found in your clip. If it can't find one, it leaves it out rather than guess. This happens most on clips where the game hides its on-screen info, like replays or spectating. If it happens on normal gameplay, email us the clip's date and what was missing and we'll look into it.

Vertikl Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase on iPhone. It removes the watermark, adds the info box to your shorts, and lets you use clips longer than 3 minutes.

New phone or reinstalled the app? Open Settings in Vertikl (the gear icon) and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought Pro with.

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your clips and privacy

On iPhone, clips are processed on your phone and nothing is uploaded. On the web, clips are converted on our server and deleted after 24 hours. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
